Christy,  of Frugality and Crunchiness with Christy nominated me for my very first blog award! I am so honored to have this award and feel very special to be placed among some excellent real food bloggers! Thanks Christy!

The Rules:

1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you this award.

2. Share seven things about yourself:
-I am a first generation American. My father, though Greek was born and raised in China and went to medical school in Hanoi and Saigon. My mother is a midwife from England, so I have long been influenced by the cultures they grew up in and their independant and self sufficient nature.
-I am a natural palm reader. I studied it a bit, but am very good at just giving a reading. I always see the positive and the good for people in their hands and I only read a palm when it feels good to me.

-I am a huge animal lover and currently have a cat, a dog and two parrots along with my kids are my earthly children! It is quite the menagerie!

-I adore traveling and will more likely spend money on a trip than anything for around the home. I have been blessed to go far and wide and hope to continue to do that as the years pass by! I am never more happy than when on a roadtrip, and then even MORE happy to come home! :)

-I adore volunteering with young women. I am the leader of two Girl Scout Troops and I think that volunteering with youth is one of the best things a person can do for the future of this world!

-I am an accomplished scuba diver and enjoy spending time in the underwater world!

-I practically grew up on a sail boat and am an accomplished sailor. I spent my child hood summers cruising up and down the New England area, visiting islands and historic ports. This is the first summer since I was 5 that I have not had access to a sailing vessel as my parents finally sold their boat. It is a little bit melancholy!

-I love rock music and I follow a number of 70′s era rock bands. Yes, I do follow them, meaning I will travel to see them play, and I have made many amazing friends along the way!

-I adore baseball, and I religiously watch the Red Sox, who are my adopted team as my husband is from New England. I adore Boston and love going to games at Fenway Park!
-I am one of the Seven Bloggers who host the Two for Tuesday Recipe Blog Hop.  It is a great new Blog Hop where you can share a post or two about Real Food – you know:

REAL food is homemade.
REAL food is from scratch.
REAL food has recognizable ingredients.
REAL food is made from traditional ingredients.

REAL food is food you make with your own hands…from food grown, milled, raised by you or by people (not machines)

3. Pass this award along to ten bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic for whatever reason!

My 10 Fab New Finds are as follows…
Jason’s Alternative Health and Nutrition News If you want amazing gluten free recipes and information, Jason’s spot is it!

Simply Sugar and Gluten Free I just love Amy’s energy and she makes GFSF seem like a dream even to those unrestricted

Forging Fromage I know this is kind of cheating because it is Heather of Girlichef’s sister site, but I adore cheese and she shows us how to make it work and seem simple!

Breast Feeding Mom’s Unite Mel is an amazing woman and she still has a hard time admitting she is a real foodist, but she has great vegetarian recipes and shares tons of good information on breast feeding and healthy nutrition. I breastfed both my babies and wholly support it. I also love to revisit the closet vegetarian in me every friday on her blog linky!

A Cook’s Library Maybe its the Anglophile in me, but Karen’s amazing site makes me feel right at home! I love reading about her life in England and her shopping and terrific recipes.

Cauldrons and Crockpots Rebekkah is such a loving warm energy! I adore her blog because she is so like me! A great sharing of traditional healing remedies, interesting recipes and fun!

Traditional Simplicity I am pretty new to following this site, but I love Michelle’s honesty about where she is related to real food and finding what feels right to her. Following our intuition is so important in all aspects of our lives and just because someone tells you something is right or wrong, you have to figure it out for yourself!

An Escape to Food When I go to Tigerfish’s site, I know I am going to come away drooling! The recipes are unique and to die for and the photography is spectacular! Who would have thought to use Lily bulbs in a recipe? Tiger fish would!

Simply Real Food Chanelle is one of the first real food bloggers I read when I made the transition to this type of eating. I adored her blog then and I adore it now for it’s great recipes and information. Along with Kelly the Kitchen Kop, Chanelle is one of the main reasons I started blogging because she showed me what was possible.

The Healthy Home Economist Sarah is just plain SMART and I love her research and recipes. Her minimalist blog is clean and readable and her writing is superb. I have learned a lot from Sarah!

Agriculture Society Raine Saunders is like a rock star to me! She is the queen of real food information as far as I am concerned.  She was a technical writer in her earlier life and now she turns her researching and writing ability on real food. Raine’s energy is infectious and I have linked to her too many times to count for support in an article. I love her blog and I highly recommend it!

So thanks again to Christy and congratulations to the new Versatile Blogger recipients. Please visit their blogs and check them out! Have a great weekend! Alex
