I have really enjoyed doing the Baby Steps to a Rockin’ Life, but with spring and summer approaching I want to spend a whole bunch more time outside exploring nature, working in my garden, foraging and learning lots of new things about the world around me. I adore all the features on my blog and have a ton of fun working with other bloggers. Baby Steps was no different and I really want to thank all the wonderful bloggers who contributed tips and life hacks to find more me time.

I just feel the need to have a bit more flexibility in my posting schedule so blogging continues to be a fun and dynamic part of my life while I can still have time to open new doors and gather new experiences into my life. My heart has been asking for this for a while and spending time away with my brother and his young family made me realize how important it is to be flexible and not set on a strict schedule. Especially with my eldest daughter getting ready to leave the nest, I need more family time as well because while I absolutely adore spending time with you all, and YOU know I DO, this is time I will never get back with her and I want this summer to be special!

I will be updating my Baby Steps page to create a hub for all the great tips and share all the wonderful bloggers who participated. I am by no means discontinuing this feature and will most likely bring it back when the weather turns colder and we find ourselves indoors more and in need of a way to glean our own time when we are all piled on top of each other in our winter burrows!

Huge hugs and continue to find time for yourself because it is so important. If you do have baby steps you want to share, please continue to forward them to me and if I have the inspiration to put up a baby steps post now and again, I certainly will! Now go enjoy your Wednesday!

Alex, you are so right! We sent our oldest daughter off to college last year and every moment you have with them before they leave is precious. Make some memories this summer that will tide you over until they come home again. I know breaks pass all too quickly and it’s time for them to go back before you know it. I can’t wait until this summer so we can all be together again.
Blogging time has been at a minimum as I prepare for my upcoming class. Working outside the home for a few hours a day doesn’t sound like it would be a big deal but it really takes a chunk out of my day. Looking forward to Baby Steps whenever the time is right but I’m proud of you for taking this step. Hoping to forward some things to you soon.
    Hugs,
    Sharon

I hope you really enjoy spending some time with your daughter before she heads off to college. I am keenly aware that it won’t be long before my Alex leaves the nest and I treasure every minute. (Okay, some minutes are better than others, but most of them are fantastic and I don’t want to miss a single one.) Look forward to seeing Baby Steps back when the time is right :)

We can never be reminded enough how important it is to make time with family. Time is one of the most valuable commodities we have and figuring out how to make the best of it is a wonderful goal.

    Hi Alex,
Your post prompts me to reflect back to the preparation time for each of my children to continue their education. We talk about getting them ready for a departure from our home to grow into the young adult that we have been preparing them for. I can look back now and see that it was not so much about getting them ready, but getting me ready to let them go. Enjoy every second of your time it is the greatest treasure you will ever have. And that’s the Baby Step for today.
    Hugs!
