I have a very easy and frugal trick that I have kept in my back pocket since my kids were little. I keep frozen cheese pizza on hand for those nights when we are all hectic but we still need to eat. I simply used to chop up my own toppings  and throw them in the oven because most frozen pizza never had had much of a selection when it came to toppings and when they did have toppings they were tiny, limp or freezer burned. Not too appetizing!

I have to admit to standing in the frozen food aisle for about 10 minutes trying to decide which to try! When I opened the pizza I was very impressed with the size and quantity of the toppings. Combining feta cheese with mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, red onions, zesty tomato sauce and loose Italian sausage was an interesting choice and a melding of flavors that I was very much looking forward to trying!

The thing that struck me right away was the lovely smell of the pizza while it cooked! It did not have that typical “frozen food” odor, filling the kitchen with the delicious scent of fresh herbs and melting cheese! It was ready very quickly and because it smelled so good it was hard to wait for it to cool a bit before digging in!

The pizza tasted as delicious as it smelled. My husband, who could eat pizza every day spontaneously exclaimed that it was absolutely awesome and definitely the best crispy crust frozen pizza he had ever had. I really enjoyed the unique combination of flavors and also loved the texture of the crust. It was crispy without being brittle or dry, and it was also not too sweet or salty which tends to be the case with most frozen pizzas. The toppings were fresh tasting, cut into nice chunks and there was just the right amount of each flavor to make me smile with pizza happiness!  I definitely look forward to trying some of their other great varieties and the deep dish version which my kids will love!
