Food from your hearth made for your soul at the hearth and soul hop!

Lots to be thankful for this week on the hearth and soul hop!

Hey everyone, oh what a bullet I dodged on Sunday night! My computer got infected with a major virus called Windows XP Security 2011 which is like a fake security warning that mimics your own windows security and then when you click the box to either close the warning or register as it asks you to do you basically give them your computer. I knew what was happening immediately upon discovering the infection, but you are not going to believe how I got infected!

On Saturday I was cruising around the internet and decided to check out a few Youtube videos that were posted in different blogs about health and nutrition. I watched a few and then my husband called me in to watch the Red Sox game (go sox!) so, like a total ninny, I left the browser open with the Youtube window open. Now, I use a firefox add on called Web of Trust, which you should all use that helps to detect unsafe websites, but Web of Trust only works if you are actually looking at the screen when a bad website comes up. In my case, I wasn’t in the room, but my cat was.

Seems the cat, who has messed with my computer a few times before because the keyboard is warm to lay on and why I USUALLY close the door or the computer when I leave the room, decided to walk on the computer keyboard and lay on it. It clicked on a link on the Youtube page and then entered a bad website that downloaded the virus to my computer.

So, my cat gave me a virus! I knew immediately what to do, which is to visit my wonderful friends in the Intensive Care Unit of Virtual Dr. which is an absolutely wonderful website filled with folks who know exactly how to cure what ails your computer and they do it as a community service which means it is FREE. You have to do all the work, and it is a LOT of work, so if you do not have time, you should certainly seek out a professional, but if you do have the time, you will learn a lot about your computer and feel a huge sense of accomplishment when you finally clean things up! If you have a virus or computer problem, please visit my wonderful friends at Virtual Dr and they will help lead the way for you!

I am feeling so grateful that everything is squeaky clean and I can share in the Hearth and Soul Hop with you all this week, so let’s get to hoppin!

The Hearth and Soul Hop was born of our beliefs that food not only nourishes our bodies, but our souls! To really get clear on what we are talking about, please check out our nifty Hearth and Soul mission statement!

Please share the hearth and soul hop badge listed below to promote the Blog Hop. We would ask you to subscribe to our feed and Tweet the Blog Hop as well if you would be so kind! One of our lovely hosts will visit your blog to comment and share your foodie joy, ideas and knowledge and tweet your post to their followers so more people can share in the fun.

This is the code for the Hearth and Soul Blog Hop. If you wish to share the love by using a Hearth and Soul badge, we really appreciate it! Please copy and paste it into the bottom of your blog post or you can choose to simply place a link back to the Hearth and Soul Blog Hop:Remember to highlight the HTML code and right click to copy it. You can then paste it into your blog posts, or put it in your sidebar to share the real food love!

Important Stuff: One link only each week please! If you link up you MUST include a link back to the hop host. Some folks have started putting up a page of blog badges but that is not the point of the link. The link is a courtesy and goes both ways. You get a link from your blog to at least 6 other blogs and those blogs get a link back. This backlinking is the way blogs benefit from networking and the more backlinks you create the more exposure your blog gets. Linking back to the hop is important and courteous to the folks running the hop and all hop hosts expect it. Folks who continuously choose not to link back will be deleted in the future, as it is not fair to all the folks who are following the rules. Hate to be a pill but this is the point of the hop, mutual exposure and benefit for all.

Please drop me a line if you have any questions or suggestions, and if you are new to blog hops and linking please check out our full set of rules for linking on my Hearth and Soul Hop Information Page. Let the fun begin!!! Thanks! The Hearth and Soul Hop Team!
