Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Hop at a Moderate Life!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great Mother’s day! If you are a mom I wish you all the patience, joy, strength and love in the world to do the toughest and most rewarding job on earth! I also wish all the mom’s out there who are with us or in heaven or yet to be mom’s tons of love.

I think back to all the things my mom taught me, and my granny and my mother in law when it comes to food and feeding a family both nourishment and love. I have been blessed to gain amazing knowledge from so many women who were filled with recipes, tips, skills and wisdom. My gran taught me to love veggies and all manner of needlework, my mom taught me to love traditional foods and my mother in law taught me good old New England frugal cooking to feed a huge family. I thank them all for the lessons in love and caring they gave me and I am now happy to pass it on down to my two daughters in preparation for whatever future they will have, because you dont have to be a “mother” to be a mother. Mothering doesn’t always mean you have a child and you raise it. It can mean you share your love with friends, support a niece or nephew or even volunteer with kids or people you do not know. Whenever you share your love and support and nurture someone, whether you are a man or a woman, a child or an adult, you are sharing some mothering energy and the world becomes a better place.

When you cook with love, you are mothering and so I think the hearth and soul hop is a bit about mothering as well as foodie love! So come on Momma’s young and old, boy or girl, share some of your food and joy with us!

The Hearth and Soul Hop was born of our beliefs that food not only nourishes our bodies, but our souls! To really get clear on what we are talking about, please check out our nifty Hearth and Soul mission statement!

Please share the hearth and soul hop badge listed below to promote the Blog Hop. We would ask you to subscribe to our feed and Tweet the Blog Hop as well if you would be so kind! One of our lovely hosts will visit your blog to comment and share your foodie joy, ideas and knowledge and tweet your post to their followers so more people can share in the fun.

This is the code for the Hearth and Soul Blog Hop.  If you wish to share the love by using a Hearth and Soul badge, we really appreciate it! Please copy and paste it into the bottom of your blog post or you can choose to simply place a link back to the Hearth and Soul Blog Hop:Remember to highlight the HTML code and right click to copy it. You can then paste it into your blog posts, or put it in your sidebar to share the real food love!

Important Stuff: One link only each week please! If you link up you MUST include a link back to the hop host. Some folks have started putting up a page of blog badges but that is not the point of the link. The link is a courtesy and goes both ways. You get a link from your blog to at least 6 other blogs and those blogs get a link back. This backlinking is the way blogs benefit from networking and the more backlinks you create the more exposure your blog gets. Linking back to the hop is important and courteous to the folks running the hop and all hop hosts expect it. Folks who continuously choose not to link back will be deleted in the future, as it is not fair to all the folks who are following the rules. Hate to be a pill but this is the point of the hop, mutual exposure and benefit for all.

Please drop me a line if you have any questions or suggestions, and if you are new to blog hops and linking please check out our full set of rules for linking on my Hearth and Soul Hop Information Page. Let the fun begin!!! Thanks! The Hearth and Soul Hop Team!
