Food from your Hearth, Made for your Soul!

Happy Hearth and Soul Hop!

If you live in the US I hope you enjoyed your first unofficial long weekend of summer! If you have been reading along all these long months through our extra dreary winter and long and cold spring, you know I have been waiting for this with baited breath! I know by the dog days of summer I might be tired of the heat and humidity, as here on the island we do not have the pleasure of EVER saying–well, its a dry heat! Though we do have the pleasure of ocean breezes and if those are not cool enough we have the joy of the ocean itself to cool us down!

What fun we had this weekend! I almost forgot it was Monday and time for the hearth and soul hop! I packed a lovely picnic lunch and we had a spectacular 4 mile hike through country lanes and meadows down to the sea shore and back again. It is simply one of my greatest joys to walk through the wilderness and put my hands and feet into the sea! The lunch tasted even better because of the long walk and the sea air! I hope you had some fun times this weekend, or got some things done that you needed to do (like yard work, which we also did!) and I hope that you are all blessed with a lovely summer filled with fun, good food and great friends and family!

Now let’s get down to the Hop!

The Hearth and Soul Hop was born of our beliefs that food not only nourishes our bodies, but our souls! To really get clear on what we are talking about, please check out our nifty Hearth and Soul mission statement!

Please share the hearth and soul hop badge listed below to promote the Blog Hop. We would ask you to subscribe to our feed and Tweet the Blog Hop as well if you would be so kind! One of our lovely hosts will visit your blog to comment and share your foodie joy, ideas and knowledge and tweet your post to their followers so more people can share in the fun.

This is the code for the Hearth and Soul Blog Hop. If you wish to share the love by using a Hearth and Soul badge, we really appreciate it! Please copy and paste it into the bottom of your blog post or you can choose to simply place a link back to the Hearth and Soul Blog Hop:Remember to highlight the HTML code and right click to copy it. You can then paste it into your blog posts, or put it in your sidebar to share the real food love!

This week I wanted to share a great salad recipe, but I didn’t take a picture of it, so it will have to wait! Decided to share a great “secret ingredient” to help you hide more fruits and vegetables in recipes for your kids, so check out my Sweet Baking Puree!
