Clark Clan at Fenway!

The Clark Clan At Fenway Park!

It is always so difficult to write an “About” page because there is so much you could say and so much you might leave out! I am a woman who has lead many different lives but finds myself as a stay-at-home mom, textile artist, girl scout leader and real foods revolutionary.

Years ago, I worked in advertising, did the “Super Mom” thing and ended up with Lyme’s Disease. After treatment, I was left with Fibromyalgia type syndrome which is now called Post-Lyme Syndrome, and doctors who only wanted to treat my situation with anti-depressants and other mood altering substances.

As a vibrantly alive artist and bonded mother, that was simply not for me, and I started on a path to find alternative methods to alleviate my symptoms.  I have gone from one extreme to another to find ways to make myself feel better, have more energy and deal with the pain that I have felt constantly for over 16 years.

In that time, I have explored raw vegan-ism, vegetarianism, macrobiotics, organics, homeopathy, acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, chines medicine, Alexander technique, Hatha, Ivengar and Asthanga Yoga and finally Nourishing Traditions, slow food and the real food movement.

I have been here, there and everywhere and I can tell you what works, and what doesn’t work. If you want to know about something in the health field, please leave me a message and I will research it for you. I have found a balance in moderation and here, in the middle of the road, I will stay. If you want to join me, pull up a seat, and stay a while!

Hi Alex, My techie skills are not up to par yet and I’m having trouble with my linky tools for my October Smackdown Challenge. Everytime I try to link my Pickled Beet recipe to Hearth and Soul it links back to my contest site! Duh!

I’m so sorry if I’m causing your site any trouble!! I’ve taken my linky off the contest for now and hope to get this figured out asap! If you have any techie advice I would appreciate it very much!

    Hi Alex,

Thanks again for stopping by, I loved your little disaster sourdough!

It was really nice of you to twit my carnival, hopefully somebody else will overcome the shame and post some other failed recipe. :-)

Hi Alex, Just wanted to let you know that the October Smackdown Challenge “Battle Chile” is working fine now and we have our first entry!!

Also, I had a few questions about your research on whole foods and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was diagnosed 4 years ago while living in Florida. I’m much better at higher altitude here in Colorado than living in the humidity of FL but I still suffer from pain a great deal of the time. .

I stopped taking most of my meds about five months ago because of the serious side effects and would love to hear some of your thoughts on the subject!

A little family history…I have one cousin who has sufferd with Fibromyalgia for years, two cousins with RA and my brother and his daughter both have MS.

Hey thanks for your twitter note, I will see what is going on with the comments page for my yogurt! Nice to meet you! I have tried many things too and ended up with real food, my mother has fibromyalgia but she doesn’t like to take dietary advice from me so it is nice to have your experiences to point to. Also my mother-in-law got lymes disease and so she also has many conditions left over from that as well. Great site!

    Hi Alex,
Can you adjust the right margin for the comments people leave? It is difficult to read and I know there are words or parts of words missing for many posts.

    Thank you!

  • Victoria

I see the left margin also needs adjustment! Unless this is a problem only on my iMac. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the beautiful comment you left me on my blog and adding me to the hearth and soul daily twitter list. I am also following you now on twitter. You know, I have been thinking of making those chocolate dipped bananas for almost a month now, but haven’t yet made it. Now that you have said that it does taste amazing, I am surely going to try them soon.
