Baby Steps to a Rockin' Life!

Every Journey Starts With One Small Step! Let's Take it Together!

Baby Steps to a Rockin’ Life From the Middle of the Road!

I am very excited to be sharing a great new theme I am starting at a Moderate Life based on my blog premise, which as you all know is moderation and living life in the middle of the road for a well balanced lifestyle.

It is called Baby Steps to a Rockin’ Life From the Middle of the Road, and this is something I have been dreaming about for a very long time!

Each Wednesday I will be sharing short tips for better health, more happiness, organization, scheduling, routines, harmony, peace, contentment, cooking, finances, personal care and family life (really any positive aspect of life!)

Each tip must be doable, based on positive action with cumulative effects applying consistent but minimal effort. In other words, it will take you very little time to do this thing but if you do it a lot, you will reap great benefits. Conversely, not doing it is not gonna slip you back into a rut.

Looking over the Cliff!

We are all so very busy, and the first thing that tends to go in our lives is taking good care of ourselves, because we are so dedicated to helping those we love. Then we usually create this big “transformation plan” and the minute we look over the “Cliff” of what we “should be doing to get where we want to go”, we feel overwhelmed and we simply sit down and don’t move.

Taking baby steps can be very positive because it gets you going in the right direction. Taking enough baby steps, like the turtle, gets you there eventually and its all about the journey and not the destination anyway!

These tips, or “life hacks”, are to make people feel good that they are making a change, and successful when they integrate each one into their lives and it becomes a habit. We all have little things we have spliced into our daily lives that never leave us. WE might not be eating 100% organic, but we might be taking a 30 minute walk every day. WE might not be doing 3 days of weight training a week, but we are definitely drinking 10 glasses of pure water. Sharing these healthy tips with people in a focused environment will show all the different ways you can add to your health and well being and overall lifestyle in tiny but positive ways.

How to Join in With Your Own Baby Steps

If you would like to be a contributor, I would be so thrilled to have you. I will be sharing at least 5 tips on a variety of positive lifestyle subjects each week.

To participate, simply submit a 1 paragraph tip with a link back to your site. If you would like to share a photograph from your site please send it in JPG format. Let me know what anchor text you want and your key words as well. You may link back to your front page, and if you do this, I ask you to put up a blog badge on your side bar, which I will be sending out to those who respond shortly. You can link back to an article if you like instead and in that case, I ask you to link to the Baby Steps weekly page and put the blog badge on your article.

Baby Steps to a Rockin' Life!

Here is the Baby Steps Blog Badge. Simply copy the text in the grab box from this page, or in my sidebar and insert it into a directly linked blog post or put it in your side bar if you are linking to your front page.

It is that simple, and I call it mini-guest posting. You get a link to my blog, I get a link to your blog, you share a bit of yourself and what makes your life rockin’ and introduces you to my audience. As bloggers we are all aware how important linking to other blogs is to our success, and I thought this would be a wonderful way to share more with our Hearth Felt Blog Community. I chose not to do a linky because I want this to be more personal and user friendly and eventually all the tips will be categorized and developed into an ebook.

In agreeing to participate you do NOT have to do so weekly, just whenever you can. You can also submit a number of tips in advance, as I will not be able to include ALL of them every week, and those not included will be held for future editions.

All tips must be positive changes to life, so tips based on fear or deprivation will not fit the theme.

Look at your life-what things are simply an unconscious part of your life that makes it better? Not everyone has your unique insight and your knowledge. You can help others make their lives better by sharing this insight with them!

By submitting a tip, you agree that it could be included in future compilations with appropriate credit. A copy of the compilation would be made available to you at no charge. Any ebooks created will also have affiliate programs associated with them so everyone can share in the benefits if they choose to.

Creating Your Own Baby Steps

If you specialize in frugality, doing a short tip on easy frugal ways with a link back to a more extensive article on your blog or just directly to your blog would be great. Same goes with heath, cooking, housework, exercise, wellness, etc. Each week we will be sharing tips on various subjects so it would contribute to a well rounded lifestyle where you are making tiny changes on all fronts.

An example of a tip would be as follows:

Take a deep breath: Did you know that most of us breathe in such a way that we are not getting the maximum amount of oxygen into our body? When born, we all breathe with our belly, dropping the diaphram and filling the lungs more fully, but as we age, most humans seem to switch to a more shallow chest based breathing where they lift the ribcage to get air in. Tidal breathing simply exchanges the top air in your lungs and will keep your body functioning, but getting more oxygen into your body can help it to perform at a higher level. Sit upright with your feet flat on the floor whenever you think about it and put your hands on your stomach. When you breathe in imagine an elevator going down and feel your stomach expand as air rushes into your lungs, which should take about 4 counts. When the elevator is at the bottom, pause for a 2 counts and then send the elevator back up again, exhaling and feel your stomach contract as the air rushes out, which should take 5 counts. Repeat for a few breath cycles, adjusting the counts to fit your body’s own rhythms. This will relieve stress, revitalize you and provide plenty of oxygen for body functions, all of which will put you on the road to a more rockin’ life! Thanks to Alex@amoderatelife for this baby step!

So, you see, it is short, positive and to the point, giving the benefits you will gain immediately from using this technique, which you can employ whenever you want. If you have a tip that relates to one of your longer articles then you would simply write up the tip and link to the article and put in for more information see….

Love it! What a great idea. Everyone else is coming up with “extreme” ideas to kick off 2011, but we all know that won’t last through the end of the week. I love the spirit here–all about progress, not perfection. Count me in, and thanks for thinking of it! I can’t wait to read everyone’s tips.

This is a great idea! I read a great book once called The Water Cure by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj. It has made a difference in my life. I now drink a glass of water first thing in the morning when I wake up. Our bodies can get dehydrated when we sleep. It’s helpful to replenish and cleanse our system. Then I drink water all day long. can’t get enough. I can now tell that my Charlie horse cramps were because I was dehydrated. this book is a must read!~Ames

Knowing that all is made of energy particle and that these particles respond to mind take a few minutes to – relax body muscles – smile ever so lightly – feel inside the sensations of life (hot, cold, twinkling, vibrating, moving, whatever is fine.) and know you can increase the brightness and shining of yourself from the inside out. With each breath increase the intensity of the inner light. Stay with it a bit. Repeat it often. THEN let it flow out of you to enlighten the world around you, blessing all and everything with your presence. Wear something to remind you to do it in all sorts of situations. Remember the slight smile. It can be your beloved companion. Lydia

A great many people are already welcoming this addition to baseball’s rules. But, for all the pleas to “just get the call right,” something just doesn’t feel right about increasing video replay in baseball. Nice resource !
